Rejuvenating Bees are one of the bees in the Aware Branch. Rejuvenating Bees are very potent bees that allow for Vis to spontaneously be generated and added to the nearest Node. There does not appear to be an upward limit on how much Vis a Rejuvenating Bee can create. In normal gameplay, this would normally be converted into Infused Stone or absorbed by Crystal Capacitors unless the player has some sort of purpose for the Vis being generated, e.g. constant crafting of items which are crafted on an Infusion Altar.

Rejuvenating Bees generate an unknown amount of vis per second and per lifetime, but estimates indicate that the rate of production is very, very high (somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-20 vis per second; for comparison, a single Crystal Cluster produces 1 vis every 5 seconds; 50-100 Crystal Clusters would be necessary to match a single Rejuvenating Bee) and affects not only the node that the bee is nearest, but all nodes in the nearby area. Rejuvenating Bees appear to affect nearby nodes at random, but cannot affect nodes more than about 130 blocks away from the Apiary or Alveary in which they reside. Thus, the effects of the Rejuvenating Bee are difficult to contain.

The impact of the Rejuvenating Bee is difficult to overstate: In one test, an isolated Pure Node with a baseline Aura rating of 458 swelled to nearly ten thousand---over twenty times its baseline value---during one life cycle of a single Rejuvenating Queen.

Forcing a Node in this way results in immense quantities of Flux and can easily cause negative Flux effects, such as potion effects, thunderstorms, lightning strikes, or even the spawning of Giant Angry Zombies. These effects may continue indefinitely as the property of Overcharge at such high levels forces constant generation of Flux to compensate.

The effects of the Rejuvenating Bee are best used when all of the Nodes in a large area have run out of Vis and there is no Infused Stone to replenish the supply of Vis. Using the Rejuvenating Bee with any degree of precision is challenging due to its tendency to replenish all nodes and not just the nearest one. Such a situation would be fairly difficult to create unless the player was entirely reliant on Thaumcraft for equipment and devices.

Rejuvenating Bees appear to equally distribute the Vis that they generate, i.e. all nodes in the nearby area will be brought up to an equal value regardless of their current or baseline value and then rise at an equal pace, e.g. a set of nodes with baseline values 524, 365, 662, and 413 would be brought up to a roughly equivalent value (for example, hovering at around 700 Vis) then rise at an equal rate to a roughly equivalent value, e.g. 2,500.

Production[edit]

Rejuvenating Bees produce Memory Combs as is the case with the other members of the Vis Branch. These result in Intellect Drops, Magic Wax and Honeydew when centrifuged.

Requirements[edit]

Pure Rejuvenating Bees require a Normal Climate and Normal Humidity to start working and must be near a Node of some sort so that it can remove the Flux from the Aura.

Spoiler warning!
This article contains detailed information of discoveries, recipes, or secrets, which are intended to be discovered through in-game mechanics.
Breeding Pair Chance Result
Energetic Bee + Vis Bee 3%* Rejuvenating Bee

*Chance listed as 0% in Apiarist Database. Must be bred during crescent moon and is unbreedable at all other times. Actual odds when during this time are 3%.

Further Mutations[edit]

The Rejuvenating Bee can be bred with a vis bee to make a Pure bee.
